There were still some faults among the Corinthians that needed correction. Evidently, some Judaizers had instilled doubts about Paul’s apostolic authority. The specific purpose of this epistle is to reestablish his authority. He does this by sharing his trials and comforts as God uses him in ministering to them. He shows the true nature of his ministry and again, the qualifications of a true minister. This makes 2nd Corinthians a perfect handbook for learning how to minister the gospel and lay down our lives.
