Micah means, “who is like Jehovah”. This book was written during the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. He was a contemporary of Hosea and Amos in Israel and Isaiah in Judah. Micah shows the sins of Israel and Judah and the inevitable judgment because of these sins. He also shows them the restoration that will finally come as the Messiah will rule over all God’s people.
